With the football season drawing nearer to the end, and the Triple C championship game long lost in the wind, both coaches in the Tenney household have started the off-season with high hopes for the fall. With the Triple C trophy proudly displayed in Coach P. Tenney's office and four of the nine league awards going to coaches P. and J. Tenney, both coaches are optimistic about the future of their teams and continued dominance in the Caterina's Coaches League.
For coach P. Tenney, it will be hard to have a better season, as he was only the second rookie to ever win the Triple C trophy. But much like Joe Flacco, Coach Tenney continues to forge ahead, busting records and creating a stir among the rest of the coaches in the league. Rumors about Coach Tenney's possible use of performance enhancing substances with his players have been heard but fans and most league owners can only blame poor performance from their teams for the Mauraders' rise to power. Coach Tenney will need to be careful, however, that his team doesn't get complacent. Like the real Super Bowl winners of late, it is more likely for the Mauraders to bow out early in the playoffs than to repeat. But for now Coach Tenney and the Mauraders can enjoy their cake, and eat it too, before spring training begins.
Coach J. Tenney ended the season with a third place team and Coach of the Year award. "It is an honor to be named coach of the year," she said "especially being fairly new to the fantasy football world". This past season marks Coach Tenney's third season as a fantasy football coach. "It's been intense, lots of scouting, watching injury reports, and learning from seasoned coaches about player moves," she was quoted as saying after receiving the award. The Mt. Morris Mayhem will be looking for some vindication in the fall, after losing to the soon-to-be champion Mauraders squad in the playoffs. Even with a 5-3 record vs. the Mauraders, the Mayhem just couldn't come up with the big plays in the end. Is Coach Tenney jealous of her husband's success? Possibly. But with an overall win record over her husband, Coach Tenney can't totally hang her head. Coach Tenney has already promised some time off for her players until all keepers are declared, then it's back in the weight room and on the practice field for the Mayhem until the draft in August.
Thank you Triple C League coaches and owners for a great season. Here's hoping for a good off-season and great draft in the fall!
